Kirk Zamieroski and Tim Reckley are independent filmmakers from Virginia who have been collaborating on A Higher Art since the winter of 2017. Their travels through Southeast and East Asia have given them the opportunity to film over twenty religious festivals and events. Their anthropological A/V archive is steadily growing in size and significance. A Higher Art is independently produced and is an expression of their dedication to sharing what they believe is the most incredible art in the world. 

Their documentary work is influenced by their desire to produce intimate and immersive content. They embed themselves closely with their subjects and rely on person-to-person connection to guide their methods of filmmaking. Their collaboration is a synthesis of both of their respective passions. Kirk is visual artist and video producer, and Tim is an audio engineer and musician. Together they have created an expressive and informative style of documentary that relies equally on sounds and images to convey the complex and nuanced art of religious ritual.
